A professional state-of-the-art, synthetic-turf soccer facility accommodating eight playing fields allowing flexibility of multiple training and playing options. The facility hosts an international standard 11 vs 11 field with the ability to be divided into three 7 vs 7 fields. The lower fields host four 5 vs 5 playing fields. The facility will generate a substantial amount of revenue to fund the ministry needs of GSM Guatemala, immediately and in the future as expansion takes place. Located within Guatemala City’s impoverished Zone Eighteen, GSM Guatemala’s BRIO facility will provide a professional soccer facility for the surrounding community.
After a generous private donation in 2010, the BRIO facility began its transition from dream to reality.
Currently, with eight income-generating fields, changing rooms, public bathrooms, a playground and an office area, the complex has become a robust center of interest and connection in the local community.
Within the next two years, GSM Guatemala is planning the expansion of the BRIO facility to include fifteen multi-purpose classrooms, that have the ability to double as living quarters, a cafeteria, and weather-covering for two of the fields.
These additions will provide further income and resources to facilitate the creation of seventy-six additional soccer teams by 2015.
